Shishangeni Camp Shawu (a satellite camp of Shishangeni Private Lodge) is situated on a 15,000 hectare private concession of the Kruger National Park. This legendary wildlife reserve has the deserved reputation for showcasing some of the finest game viewing on the continent. Camp Shawu is named after the most famous of the African elephants. 'Shawu bull' roamed the valley here for sixty years and had longest tusks ever recorded in South Africa. Those lucky enough to have encountered this awe-inspiring bull say he took your breath away. Camp Shawu aims to do the same. Explore Africa's wildlife in and around Camp Shawu. Lion, leopard, elephant, buffalo, rhino, cheetah, hippo and crocodile abound. You will return restored and rejuvenated - having absorbed the magical energy and spiritual presence inherent in the bush. The Camp can accommodate 10 guests in 5 very large rooms overlooking the Mpanamana dam. All are luxuriously equipped with romantic ball and claw bath, sitting area facing open fireplace, ceiling fans and outside shower. A large verandah with reclining chairs and umbrella is the perfect spot from which to watch the game come down to drink. Facilities include a spacious lounge, splash pool, and indoor and outdoor dining area. Shishangeni Camp Shawu is located inside the Kruger National Park,
18km south-east of Crocodile Bridge Rest Camp. |
