Biking
Hazyview Adventure Trails
Guided trails through plantations and indigenous bush
along the Sabie River Valley. On the 2-hour trails,
passengers stop at a waterfall for refreshments. Easy to
drive semi-automatic 250cc quad bikes, suitable for novice
and experienced drivers. Drivers must be older than 16
years.

Long Tom Pass
Quad through a Natural Heritage Site on the mountainous
Long Tom Pass. Experience indigenous forests, open
grasslands and breathtaking views. Choose from

Motor
Biking
Ride the famous "22 Road".
This windy stretch of tarred
road between the towns of Hazyview and Sabie, is well
known amongst riders for the most exhilarating rush of adrenaline on two wheels.
Caution: Part of this road is currently badly potholed and not safe for high speed biking.
Enroll for a one-day or weekend
course in Road Riding, or Off-Road Riding with the BMW Motorrad Rider Academy, as well as the
Off-Road Rider Academy in Sabie. Several courses
(catering from novices to expert riders) are available,
and are aimed at all brands of Adventure motorcyclists.

Rafting
Raft the lower-Sabie River in 2-man inflatable "croc
rafts". A picnic meal on the banks of the river can
be arranged on request. Children allowed, subject to water
levels. The Sabie River is one of the cleanest river
systems in the country with a diverse fish population and
prolific birdlife. Eight kilometre course with 20 rapids
(grade 2-3). Life jackets, helmets and all other safety
equipment provided.

Geckoing
This is the best way to raft down the Sabie River! A Gecko
is a one-man inflatable, raft-tube with handles and a
rigid floor. You can sit, lie, and even stand on a Gecko!
It is faster, safer and more capable than any other tube.
Geckoing takes place in the upper part of the Sabie river
where the gradient is quite steep and the river is narrow
due to the steep sides of the gorge. A degree of fitness
is needed as you need to scamper over slippery rocks and
walk out of the gorge at the end of the trip. Bring shoes,
sunscreen, towels and a set of dry clothes. Free wetsuits
provided when it is cold. Each trips is accompanied by a
well trained swift-water guide. To ensure a lasting memory
video or still camera footage can be arranged. Children
older than 12 years allowed.

Hot-Air Ballooning (Hoedspruit)
Experience the magic of lighter-than-air flight near the foot of the Drakensberg Escarpment during
a flight over the scenic, Lowveld section of the Blyde River, 15 km West of Hoedspruit. The terrain
is a mixture of farmland, private nature reserves and wildlife estates.
As the sun rises, the landscape, the vegetation and, if you're lucky, some wildlife will provide photo
opportunities. Game spotting cannot be guaranteed, but on most flights we see plains game like giraffe
and wildebeest.
Up to 20 passengers, spread over three balloons, can be accommodated. Children are welcome, but they
must be taller than 1.2m, so that they can see over the rim of the basket. Sorry, but pregnant ladies
are not allowed.
Launch Times: Summer at 05:00, and Winter at 06:30 (passengers to meet 30 minutes before these times)

Horse trails winding through the beautiful Lowveld scenery
of the Sabana River, indigenous bush and fruit orchards.

watcher you'll be in paradise! Maximum rider weight of 90kg.

Safaris
Guided horse trails and safaris on a 2 000 hectare
wildlife conservancy situated 2km from Hazyview. There are
various trails available, from meandering rambles to long
open canters which suit all levels of riding ability.
Rides start at the homestead from where you head into the
Sandford Conservancy, passing from open fields into
woodland forests and river valleys. Weight limit of
90kg.

Safaris
Morning, afternoon, full day and Sunset safaris on open
Game Viewing vehicles, Bush Walks and African
Night Experiences into the Kruger National Park. Go
off-road on dirt tracks and footpaths into the African
wilderness!
Day Safaris
Get pick-up from your lodge/hotel. Morning safaris departs
at opening time and finish at 12:00. Afternoon safaris
begin at 13:00 and finish at gate closing time. Full
day safaris are from gate opening time until 16:00.

Bush Walks (minimum 2 people)
Experience the adrenaline surge! Bush walks take you into
the home of Africa's Big Five -- on their terms and under
the watchful eyes of armed rangers. We collect you in the
early hours of the morning or mid-afternoon, and take you
for a 3 hour walk in the wilderness, where your guide will
share his knowledge of the bush and animals with you.

Kloofing (Sabie)
Have a breathtaking walk, jump and slide inside the veins
of mother-nature. Experience the magnificent Mac Mac
Waterfall beyond the limits of a normal sightseeing
tourist. Kloofing is when you descent down a dry or wet
ravine, where it is several times deeper than it is wide.
It is all about hiking, scrambling, climbing, jumping and
having fun! The scenery changes from wide open grassland
to thick jungle vegetation. The three jumps will keep the
adrenaline pumping while the not-so-adventurous have the
option to walk around them. Some degree of fitness is
required. Bring swimwear, shoes and a set of dry clothes.

Mountain
Biking
(Self-guided, or Guided Trails)
The Sabie Valley between Sabie and Hazyview is a world
class Mountain Bike Destination. Trails are not only
smooth but also very scenic and characterized by river
crossings, single tracks and sights of breathtaking
waterfalls. Permits available from the Merry Pebbles Resort in Sabie.
Green Trail - 5 km
This route on farm roads, flowing quad tracks and meanders
along the Sabaan River. It covers a lot of indigenous
forest sections.
Red Trail - 8 km
This is the official Induna X-Fest lap race route. Trail
takes you through indigenous forest and though a fast
flowing bush tunnel.
Grey Trail - 15 km
Mostly on blue gum plantation roads wit steep up and
downs. A lot of climbing but the 2 waterfalls with look
out points make it worth all the way.
Blue Trail - 10 km
The flattest trail we have, with only one steep up hill at
the beginning and a great view of a breath taking cascade
water fall.
Black Trail - 11 km
The best 11 km ride of your life!
Yellow
Trail - 35 km
Lots of single tracks, forest roads, river crossings and
water falls.

Kayaking
Kayaking on the Sabie River (class 3 and 4 rapids) is for
everybody and is a great way to enjoy the outdoors in a
healthy way. Suitable for the beginner, expert or weekend
warrior. An edited DVD of your whole kayaking
experience can be arranged!

Paintball
It is a fun, healthy and technical exercises
involving strategy, stealth and quick thinking. Played in
an indigenous forest next to a small river. The river
forms the one border and a steep embankment form the other
natural border. There are trees and rock formations to use
as cover. Semi automatic guns that allow you to shoot as
fast as you can pull the trigger. A guide accompanies each
game to explain the equipment and rules. We supply the
paintball guns, paintballs and protective eyewear &
clothing. Children older than 12 years allowed.

Winding along the scenic 1-hour Sabaan or 4-hours Mac Mac Rivers. Lush vegetation and an impressive

with fun and laughter.

Swing (Graskop)
Experience the adrenalin rush with a 68m free-fall at
180km/hour in under 3 seconds on one of the world's
highest Cable Gorge Swings! Or fly across a
panoramic gorge on a 130m high and 135m long High-wire

Gorge Lift (Graskop)
An unforgettable journey into the heart of a pristine indigenous forest.
Your journey begins as you drop off the grassy cliff top in a custom-designed 26-passenger viewing
elevator. It travels 51 meters down the cliff face into the cool mountain forest below. An extensive
network of elevated walkways, suspension bridges and interactive exhibits lead you along the 500
meters forest trails and across the streams. The site′s towering cliffs have been cut back
over time by the Motitsi River, with the Panorama Gorge waterfall which plummets 70 meters into the
gorge below.
The ride down with the elevator only takes a few minutes, but you can spend hours exploring the
indigenous forest below. And one ticket is good for multiple daily rides down into the forest.
A conservation fee of R50/adult & R25/child is payable at the entrance to the complex.

Cable Trail
Experience the thrill of Africa's longest aerial cable
trail! Glide freely over one of the last remaining natural
forest along the Sabie River Valley.
The aerial cable trail takes
you down into the valley basin, stopping along the way on
a number of elevated platforms to admire the natural
vegetation, birdlife and the views of the forest floor
below. All groups are escorted by qualified guides.

Caving
- Sudwala Caves
The Crystal Tour at Sudwala Caves penetrates 2km deep into
the bowels of Mother Earth to the outskirts of the Crystal
Chamber, with its splendid array of sparkling aragonite
crystals. Moderately difficult, with some stretches of
crawling involved. Negotiate the natural tunnels,
some of which contain water. You must be prepared to get a
little wet and dirty! Usually the first Saturday of each
month for groups of up to 15 people. Bring old clothes
(not jeans), boots/firm footwear, torch with long-life
batteries, towel and change of clothes.

Forest Cruise (Sabie)
Relax on an open 4x4 vehicle, cruising up Sabie's Mountains
and have an eagle's view of the natural forests and a secret
waterfall. Finish with a refreshing swim and a 30 meter
bum-slide at a natural rock pool below the falls. The falls
is located off the beaten track, not charted on any tourist
map, and it is only accessible by 4x4 vehicle. Bring the
whole family, swimwear, towels, sun screen and a picnic
basket, and bask on the rocks of the tranquil waterfall.
