Plains Camp (part of Rhino Walking Safaris) is situated in the heart of a wilderness area inside the Kruger National Park. Built in authentic pioneer tradition, it has the serenity of a 19th century naturalists rest. Nestled in an acacia knobthorn thicket it overlooks the spectacular Timbitene plain and waterhole. An African book collection and antique treasures are reminiscent of the bygone days. The plunge pool has a view of the abundant game traversing the plain. Guest will either arrive at Plains Camp on foot or by lodge vehicle, depending on where their previous night was spent. Plains Camp offers four comfortable furnished tents. The tents are fully serviced with en-suite facilities, hot running water and all the comforts of home with the African wilderness on your doorstep. A generator and a back-up battery system power overhead fans and 24 hour lighting. The generator system can be used to re-charge camera batteries at specific times. Plains Camp also offer a wilderness "sleep out" experience - weather permitting, whilst Rhino Walking Safaris offer walking safaris and evening game drives in KNP. Plains Camp is located inside the Kruger National Park, ?? km north-east of Skukuza Rest Camp. |
